Mini-Soccer Centre

We are delighted to be able to continue our Saturday morning Mini-Soccer Centre into its ninth year. Join the Centre and experience well-structured skills training brought to you by well qualified FA coaches.

The coaching is led and organised by Shelley Strange, a UEFA 'B' Licence coach from Reading Football Club's Academy.

The centre is managed administratively by Trevor Howell, AFC Henley Vice Chairman.

The Mini-Soccer Centre

AFC Henley's FA-affiliated Mini-Soccer Centre offers a carefully managed introduction to club football. FA guidelines advise against competitive games for U5s and U6s (Reception and Y1), so there are no formal teams or matches for them against other clubs. U5s and U6s train for just 60 minutes, U7s (Y2) and U8s (Y3) for 90 minutes. Y3 (U8) members are gradually introduced to competitive matches and may play in occasional 'Football Festivals' involving visiting clubs. They progress eventually to 7-a-side league football at U9.
