U9 Henley Hotspur v South Reading FC 6 - 2

On this ice cold day in April we all gathered to watch U9 Henley Hotspur play their last match of their first and very exciting season, where they got promoted halfway in, to a higher league. Five minutes into the game, Aedan already scored a magnificent goal. Adam played a good match, first allowing Joseph to score following an important cross, then had us gasping when his shot at goal narrowly went over the bar.

Ben scored in the second quarter after Aedan cleverly passed the ball. Corey who was now in goal kept the score at 3-0 by making an important save. However shortly after, South Reading scored from a corner. George then made it 4-1, but the opponents kept going despite them being a few goals down, and made it 4-2 shortly after. Another goal from Aedan made it 5-2.

The last quarter saw Leo in striking position and the team worked well to direct all the balls at him. He created numerous chances but although none on them converted for one reason or another, it made the last part of the match hilariously spectacular.

The cherry on the cake was Aedan scoring 6-2 from a free kick, from close to the half meter line.

Player of the match was George, recognising his tireless and selfless efforts to drive the match forward.

An epic end to a superb first season for this U9 Henley Hotspur team, professionally managed by John and his assistants. A big thank you to them, and best of luck for next season!
