AFC Henley Winter Newsletter - Girls’ Football and Half Term Holiday Camps
I hope you’re enjoying the winter football - a combination of the 3G and our brilliantly maintained pitches have kept it going as well as anywhere. I’d like to talk about the Girls’ teams and first to thank Mike Turner’s Crystal Cortex and Jamie Smith Estates for supporting the Girls’ Teams with funding for extra professional coaching and a Veo system.
We are very strong in Boys football and are very keen to continue to grow the Girls side further. We have Shelley Strange coaching with us and driving growth here - Shelley says “we have a fantastic group of girls and we need to grow this - we’re really keen to have a team at every age group”. We are trying hard to grow in this area, we even had Mary Berry visiting the Girls’ training as part of her BBC2 series last year.
So if you have any interested daughters, sisters or friends please get in touch. As you know we are volunteer run with parent coaches so we especially need parents to coach and run teams - there is a huge amount of support available for anyone wanting to do this. You can do it!
Also don’t forget to book ahead the next half term holiday camps https://www.afchenley.com/payments/earlybird-booking--feb-half-term-camp-18th--20th-145091.html
As ever thanks to all our wonderful coaches and other volunteers without whom the club would not be possible. If you have some time help in any capacity (fundraising, socials, coaching, admin) please get in touch. Same goes if you’d like to sponsor us or advertise at Jubilee Park - this keeps the fees down.
Enjoy the football.
